Vanilla, Yellow, White....What's the difference?
My Yellow and White cakes are BOTH vanilla flavor, unless you ask for a different flavor! They are made differently though. I usually use French Vanilla mix instead of Yellow or White mix. I like the flavor better and it has zero dyes unlike the Yellow mix.
Yellow / Vanilla Cake Layers
1 box Duncan Hines Yellow or French Vanilla cake mix
1 box (3.4 oz.) vanilla instant pudding mix
1 1/4 cup whole milk
1/2 cup vegetable oil
3 eggs
1 tsp pure vanilla extract
Yellow / Vanilla Cupcakes
1 box Duncan Hines Yellow or French Vanilla cake mix
1 box (3.4 oz.) vanilla instant pudding mix
1 cup whole milk
1 cup vegetable oil
4 eggs
1 tsp. pure vanilla extract
White / Vanilla Cake Layers and Cupcakes
1 box Duncan Hines White or French Vanilla cake mix
1/2 cup sugar
1 cup sour cream
3/4 cup water
1/4 cup vegetable oil
4 egg whites
1 tsp pure vanilla extract
Directions for all:
Mix all ingredients on medium/low in stand mixer for 2 minutes or until combined. Pour into greased and floured pans and bake according to pan size @ 350 degrees. Cupcakes usually bake in 15-20 minutes.
